Every DAW has a visual layer โ a place where notes live, patterns form, and time unfolds. For Jiku Music, that layer is the grid.
But this isnโt just a canvas. Itโs a living system. A responsive, dynamic, beat-aware engine that translates musical ideas into visual form.
The grid is where pitch meets time. Where rows represent notes, columns represent beats, and the entire interface becomes a playground for composition.
We built it to feel intuitive โ but underneath, itโs precise.
Each row corresponds to a MIDI pitch, mapped from A6 down to C1. Each column represents a beat, subdivided by snap settings that let you place notes with surgical control. Each bar is labeled, each note is drawn with rounded edges, color-coded by track, and rendered with active/inactive states that reflect your current focus.
Itโs not just functional. Itโs expressive.
The grid adapts to your tempo, your track count, your zoom level. It redraws itself in real time. It highlights C-notes for orientation. It darkens sharps for contrast. It marks every fourth beat with a stronger line to help you feel the rhythm visually.
And when you press play, the grid becomes kinetic. The playhead moves. The notes light up. The canvas becomes a performance.
This is where Jiku Music starts to feel alive โ not just as a tool, but as an instrument.
Because the grid isnโt just a background. Itโs the stage.
Itโs where you sketch ideas, test rhythms, build harmonies, and sculpt melodies. Itโs where you see your music before you hear it. Itโs where structure becomes style.
We designed the grid to be fast, fluid, and beautiful. But more importantly, we designed it to be yours.
Every note you place is a decision. Every track you color is a mood. Every bar you fill is a moment.
And the grid holds it all.
