The letter applauds Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

The families of Israeli hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza have called for President Donald Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which represents the relatives of most of the hostages, wrote an Oct. 6 letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, saying it should give Trump the prestigious award.

“President Trump’s determination to bring peace made possible what many said was impossible. From the moment of his inauguration, he brought us light through our darkest times,” they wrote.

The letter applauds Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

“At this very moment, President Trump’s comprehensive plan to release all remaining hostages and finally end this terrible war is on the table. For the first time in months, we are hopeful that our nightmare will finally be over,” it stated.

“We are confident that he will not rest until the last hostage is brought home, the war has ended, and peace and prosperity are restored to the people of the Middle East.”

The plan, which Israel has accepted, includes immediately ending the war; sending humanitarian aid into Gaza; redeveloping Gaza; Hamas releasing alive and deceased hostages within 72 hours of Israel agreeing to the plan; deradicalizing Gaza and making it a terror-free zone; and Israel releasing 250 life-sentenced prisoners and 1,700 Gazans who were detained after the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas.

Hamas has replied by saying it will release all the hostages, living and dead, and enter into negotiations to end the war.

“They’re in negotiations right now as we speak,“ Trump told reporters on Oct. 5. ”They’ve started the negotiations in the last couple of days. We’ll see how it turns out. But I’m hearing it’s going very well.”

The letter by family members of the hostages said Trump has backed his words with action.

“In this past year, no leader or organization has contributed more to peace around the world than President Trump. While many have spoken eloquently about peace, he has achieved it,“ they wrote. ”While others have offered empty promises, he has delivered tangible results that have saved countless lives.”

The letter did not give examples.

“We strongly urge you to award President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize because he has vowed he will not rest and will not stop until every last hostage is back home,” the letter stated.

“His unprecedented achievements in peacemaking deserve this recognition. For our families, and for millions around the world affected by his efforts, this honor would affirm that determined leadership and bold action in service of peace are what truly matter in our world.”

The Epoch Times has reached out to the Norwegian Nobel Committee for comment on the letter.
